When we moved from London to Majorca, Spain for my work with Camper, it had a very psycho geographic effect on me and drove my creativity. I came from London where everyone was cool, all fashion was fast, and consumption was conspicuous. I was in that world, but I learned by being in the countryside and hanging out with painters and alternative thinkers how to make something quite opposite of that world.
The move, which ironically comes in the middle of the White House’s American Heroes Week, was wholly unexpected. It’s not clear why Trump decided to announce such a significant policy change via Twitter or when it would take effect. His timing in relation to other political events is also odd: He shared the news in the midst of Senate Republicans’ this week..
1 point submitted 2 hours agoNASA and USAF Space Command work togdther on a number of things I’m not suggesting that NASA is going to get into defense, just that some responsibilities may shift. For example, why does USAF need to have command over commercial and weather satellite launches? Could that not be rolled into NASA’s already existing monitoring programs? See:Spacelift operations at the East and West Coast launch bases provide services, facilities and range safety control for the conduct of DOD, NASA and commercial launches. Through the command and control of all DOD satellites, satellite operators provide force multiplying effects continuous global coverage, low vulnerability and autonomous operations. Satellites provide essential in theater secure communications, weather and navigational data for ground, air and fleet operations and threat warning. You could essentially take the entire non DOD aspects of USAF’s Space Capabilities and Operations and move them into NASA.
